-i have a new client who is using my current color crush in her main living room. coral-red! yes! it's hard to talk clients into taking small risks with color but this fabulous gal looked at me and said, "yeah, sure, i love that color." then her equally cool hubby said, "yeah, sure." cool peeps!

-spent a really great evening with the mom. we got to hear from someone very dear to us and it was, well, what word is better than awesome? awesome is kinda my "go to" word. but it was better than that word. 

i guess i don't have words for this.

-i tried gel nails for the first time. i was so scared. really! i didn't want them to ruin my already paper thin nails. but i love love it and you should see the pretty (yep, you guessed it!) coral/red color my nails are sportin'!
so far so good but my thumb has a little chippage already-is this normal??

-i haven't been doing my pillow line in probably about a year. i just got busy and life did busy stuff as well and i guess i just took a break without even realizing in. but im back!!!!!
a few weeks ago i got re-inspired by a really cool map fabric and made a globe pillow for my clients little boys bedroom. How cute is this thing?!

 - created a few succulent boxes saturday and plan to hang them outside on the wall. im waiting for them to take root and so far they look really pretty. i will post soon on how i did this. much easier than i thought!

-finally watched 'rebel without a cause'. anyone else think grease got a little inspiration from this movie??? most awesome part of the movie??? when james dean holds a compact mirror up to natalie woods' face and asks her if she wants to see a monkey!! 
wow- the boys from the 50's had game huh? i'm still laughing!


-still have the circus afro song from madagscar 3 in my head. it's not leavin'. i sang it to shane even though he was faking sleeping last night and i sang it to my son when we woke up this morning.
sorry if i am gonna be around you in the next few days. you're gonna hate me.

aloha friday

-monday was memorial day and just when i realized i hadn't reminded my kids of the importance of this day (not just a day off from school) i saw this photo and realized i had been telling them for years. apparently my kids do listen.

-wednesday the biggest little turned 17. goosebumps. had a family dinner at mikado's sushi. we have a big dinner planned saturday with her favorite people at frida's.

-a friend of mine bought a home. all by herself after a few tough years. she moved in thursday. i am so so proud of her!

-today is my son's 8th grade picnic. you know what that means. all day in the sun with kids that are high on cotton candy and slushies. you'll find me hiding in the far corner of the bouncy. ok, you'll find me jumping in the bouncy, high on cotton candy with a slushie in my hand.

-bought my girl a kindle for her birthday so my kindle and i just re-united. kindle is so happy not to be forced to display teen novels any longer. kindle prefers mr. grey. hmmm.....wait aren't those kinda the same thing.....?

-next tuesday i have a meeting with brian hurst. he is a medium. i know this makes me sound nutso. i'm not, i promise. i can't wait!

-tried out a new recipe this week. s'more bars. so darn good. i will share soon.

'citing stuff happenin around these parts.....

-working on a new project up in the hollywood hills. the views are ridic! i will share soon.

-gonna spend a week-end in palm springs with my girl erin and see the fabulous michael from west 3rd brand. oh, you dont know west 3rd? whaddya live in a box?? might wanna google it. its aloha friday worthy-thats fo' reals.

-the lunar eclipse was pretty cool. its amazing how often we are reminded of just how small we are in this world.

-i am basically at the 30 day countdown until we go on our mehican cruise. no kids. just us, good friends, some maracas and possibly a few "nah, i didn't do that...did i moments". just tryin to keep it real.

-apartment therapy is gonna shoot a few kids rooms and a baby nursery i just did. this nursery is so cute plus the mom is adorable and rocks a baby bump like no otha'! stay tuned.

-my lime tree is makin babies! they are tiny and probably are not gonna produce large enough limes to make me mojitos this summer but i got big hopes for next summer. mojitos at my house!!!!

-watched my maile learn to throw a spiral with her daddy. priceless.....

so i missed last week coz i was in palm springs (oh, you didn't know-i didn't facebook, instagram it and shout about it enough????) with the bestie so lets just make that #1 this week!

-picked up julie from the airport and drove right to p.s. and we didnt get lost-not once. queen of the road!

-went hiking in indian canyon. although we were pretty sure we were being lured into a 'hills have eyes' type situation we made it out and saw a pretty cool part of the world.

-got 4 blissful days off. in a row. much needed and much loved.

-spent saturday at glen ivy hot springs spa with two of my fav brunettes. it was awesome-there was mud involved.....

-woke up sunday to 4 people that love me more than i probably deserve. julie and i were spoiled with the best mommas day breakfast followed up with a trip to the rose bowl flea market. julie found a cool iron 's' that was once part of the gates at knots berry farm.

-julie brought me 7 packs of uncle dans dressing from back home. oh, and they are double packs! yessssss!

-started my big brother countdown this week. i know, there is still 63 days left but im obsessed so i countdown. hey, i could be obsessed with robert pattinson and have to go put my hands in his hand print at manns chinese theater.....oh.....

-took julie to manns chinese theater coz she needed to touch where robert pattinson had touched. the ground was dirty. she still touched. she paid $20 for parking. this was all her awesome-not mine.

-got a new tan cream from julie (man she is all over this week in my awesomeness) it really works. i suggest the sundeck in marysville if you need to get yo tan on coz my legs look sun-kissed and not orange or streaky.

-saw a neighbor had a saints flag out in their front yard- never knew they were so cool. like them so much more now....

-the bachelorette started this week. i love emily and love watching reality tv.

-my love affair with coco cafe has begun and you are all here to witness this aloha. coconut water with a shot of espresso. yea. it's real. real awesome. i will just leave you with that aloha......

-me getting another unexpected new client which means this siri chick that resides in my phone and is suppose to keep me reminded and organized betta get her game on!

-remembering i had 4 packs of skinny cows in the freezer but only polishing off 2 packs....yep, more of that awesome restraint.

-finding lemon pudding at target after asking bestie to go buy and ship me lots of boxes.
what the !!!
i have looked in every grocery store from L.A. to the valley for this stuff for years!!! God loves target. i'm convinced.

-remembering a great story with the kids: trying to make a good impression on a new friend with my family when one of my kids blurts out, "hey we should all play quarters"......silence......i quickly try to recover the fumble, "oh, we play with water of course"....still doesn't sound right. yep, vote for me, raising kids since '95!!

-winning a hula hoop contest -boom! know this: mama still gots it and she WILL bring it!

-setting a trip to glenn ivy hotsprings with my bestie and my favorite cali girl. this has become a yearly tradition and we have the best time! why? coz friends and mud are like pb&j-goes together without question!

awesome high points:

-my sons teacher telling me whatever i'm doing i am doing it right and thanking me for my "fine young man". lump in throat.

-me not throwing my arms around my son's teacher and hugging him (for 5 seconds of course) coz this would have literally killed my son with embarrassment. check that restraint!

-getting back into the habit of drinking lots and lots of H2Omy this is good with lemons and cucumbers -(thanks shane for making my special spa water)

-having an awesome anni dinner with just shane. that's all. just shane.

-taking a nap with my oldest daughter on her "way more comfy than my bed" bed sunday. naps just don't happen in my world.

-walking around the grocery store for 20 minutes before i realize that not only my top button on my shirt is open but the button below it decided to open on up as well...i mean, it's not a party unless you wore the silver sparkle bra which, thankfully for all the grocery shoppers, i suuuuuure diiiid! i, uh, i will just go ahead and put my shirt back on here and leave my cart in aisle 4 and come back later....huge walk of shame to the doors! (actually, this has nothing awesome about it)

-getting the "whoa, what" shocked face when my daughter calls me mom and the lady next to us is like, "wait you are her mom? i thought you were her friend!" oh yeeah, uh-huh, feelin' good, thasss right (yep, i am cabbage patching right now).

-opening an email that says "tickets booked" and knowing your bestie is on her way and life just got super happy today!

 the girl on the left is coming to see me the girl on the right is trying to find a way. sadly the cover band behind behind us is not coming but that would rock if they did (literally)

sooooo, this week was nutso.

i had another install of ridiculous proportions along with all other kinds of crazy mixed into my week. at one point i just found my inner courtney love and went with the whole, "what, whatchoo lookin' at- i was born crazy"......kinda works, got me through...

even though it was crazy i had things that were awesome:

-my install looks amazing- i will post pics soon

-i figured out how to do the sock bun (successfully-not the kind that looks like a birds nest on mah head)

-i found the original popcorn chip at -they are at gelsons but i will spar for them if i have to so leave a bag or 4 for me. i have surprising strength.

-i made it through not just 1 but 2 trips to IKEA which falls at number 3 for my least favorite places to be. in case you are wondering the dentist is first and the DMV is second. it was really touch and go there for a few minutes. aisle 21, bin 8000 wasn't workin' for me and those yellow shirts are nowhere to be found when you need them. with 1 minor melt down and a yogurt cone for my good behavior from my brother i made it through....

-i ate my weight in deviled eggs on easter- this is awesome because i also had access to chocolate bunnies. it could have been ugly....

-i have stepped into 2012. i did it. i kicked, i screamed but i'm here and the proud owner of a new iphone. this is huge for me. i still don't know what to do with it other than answer it, call out and text but expect some really fly pics soon from me coz i gots apps!!

and because no blog is as good without a fun pic- i will leave you with this photo of a neighbors dog that deep down really wants me to throw her ball when i see her but shakes her head around when i get my hand close....this pic is what i imagined i looked like this week....
